Introduction

TrainingZones.io (hereinafter "the Site") is published by Julien Boucher, Versoix, Switzerland. We are committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we use it.

Data We Collect

TrainingZones.io works without an account: every calculator is usable without signing up, and we never ask for your name or your date of birth. A few things are nevertheless recorded. If you accept analytics cookies, we measure how the site is used. If you ask our chatbot a question, that question is kept so we can improve the answers, so please avoid typing personal details into it. If you give us an email address, for the newsletter, a training guide or a message, we keep it in order to send you what you asked for. Finally, our servers keep basic usage records, such as which tools are called and which partner links are clicked, in a form that does not identify you directly.

Emails and Newsletter

We only write to you if you asked us to: a newsletter subscription, a guide download, or a reply to a message you sent us. This rests on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time through the unsubscribe link in every email, or by writing to the address below. Our emails are sent through Resend, a specialised provider acting on our instructions. We never sell or rent your address.

MCP connector for AI assistants

TrainingZones.io offers a public connector (MCP server) that you can add to an AI assistant such as Claude or ChatGPT, at https://www.trainingzones.io/api/mcp. It works with no account and no key: your assistant calls our calculators and training guides through it. This section describes what the connector records.

For each tool call we record only: the date and time, the name of the tool called, the requested language (when the tool takes one), whether the call succeeded or failed, how long it took, a salted hash of the caller's IP address (an irreversible value, never the address itself) and the client's user agent, meaning the technical name of the software making the call. With Claude, the address our server sees is usually the assistant's rather than yours.

We never store the values your assistant sends to the tools (age, weight, sex, heart rate, HRV, menstrual cycle dates, test results and so on), nor the content of your conversation, which we do not receive. The IP address is never written in clear text in our database.

Some calculators accept health-related values. They are processed in memory long enough to compute the answer, then discarded: we do not keep them and do not attach them to any account, since there is none. They do pass through your assistant, which handles them under its own terms.

These records serve two purposes: usage statistics (which tools are useful, in which languages, with which errors) and abuse prevention. For the second purpose, the IP address is also counted temporarily in the server's memory to limit the number of calls (120 per minute per address), without being stored. This processing rests on our legitimate interest in running and securing the connector. It does not allow us to identify you directly.

These records are kept for as long as these statistics need them. For any question or request (access, deletion, objection), write to us at the address at the bottom of this page: the rights described below apply.

The assistant you use (Anthropic's Claude, OpenAI's ChatGPT or another) processes your conversation under its own privacy policy, which we do not control. On our side, the connector is hosted on Vercel and its usage records are stored in our Neon database, as stated in the section on international transfers.

Google Analytics 4

If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used: pages visited, session duration, country of origin. We use it to read trends, not to identify individual visitors, and Google processes this data on our behalf under its own terms.

Cookies

The Site uses a functional cookie to remember your cookie consent choice ("cookie-consent"). If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics sets additional cookies (_ga, _ga_*). You can change your choice at any time by clearing your browser cookies.

How Long We Keep Data

We keep each piece of data only as long as the purpose it serves requires. Analytics data follows the retention period configured in Google Analytics. An email address is kept until you unsubscribe. You can ask us to delete what concerns you at any time, at the address below, and we will do so unless the law requires us to keep it, which mainly concerns accounting records.

Your Rights (GDPR - EU)

If you reside in the European Union, you have the following rights regarding your personal data: right of access, rectification, erasure, portability, objection, and restriction of processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at contact@trainingzones.io. You may also file a complaint with the CNIL (France) or your country's data protection authority.

Your Rights (nLPD - Switzerland)

If you reside in Switzerland, the new Data Protection Act (nLPD) grants you similar rights: right of access, rectification, and erasure of your data. For any request, contact us at contact@trainingzones.io. The Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) is the competent authority.

Your Rights (CCPA - California)

If you reside in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) grants you the right to know what data is collected, to request its deletion, and to opt out of the sale of your data. We do not sell any personal data. For any request, contact us at contact@trainingzones.io.

International Transfers

Part of your data is processed outside Switzerland and the European Union, mainly in the United States, because our hosting (Vercel), our database (Neon), our analytics (Google) and our email delivery (Resend) rely on providers established there. These transfers are covered by the safeguards the GDPR provides for, mainly the Standard Contractual Clauses of the European Commission.
