Introduction

TrainingZones.io (hereinafter "the Site") is published by Julien Boucher, Versoix, Switzerland. We are committed to protecting your personal data. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we use it.

Data We Collect

TrainingZones.io works without an account: every calculator is usable without signing up, and we never ask for your name or your date of birth. A few things are nevertheless recorded. If you accept analytics cookies, we measure how the site is used. If you ask our chatbot a question, that question is kept so we can improve the answers, so please avoid typing personal details into it. If you give us an email address, for the newsletter, a training guide or a message, we keep it in order to send you what you asked for. Finally, our servers keep basic usage records, such as which tools are called and which partner links are clicked, in a form that does not identify you directly.

Emails and Newsletter

We only write to you if you asked us to: a newsletter subscription, a guide download, or a reply to a message you sent us. This rests on your consent, which you can withdraw at any time through the unsubscribe link in every email, or by writing to the address below. Our emails are sent through Resend, a specialised provider acting on our instructions. We never sell or rent your address.

Google Analytics 4

If you accept analytics cookies, we use Google Analytics 4 to understand how the site is used: pages visited, session duration, country of origin. We use it to read trends, not to identify individual visitors, and Google processes this data on our behalf under its own terms.

Cookies

The Site uses a functional cookie to remember your cookie consent choice ("cookie-consent"). If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics sets additional cookies (_ga, _ga_*). You can change your choice at any time by clearing your browser cookies.

How Long We Keep Data

We keep each piece of data only as long as the purpose it serves requires. Analytics data follows the retention period configured in Google Analytics. An email address is kept until you unsubscribe. You can ask us to delete what concerns you at any time, at the address below, and we will do so unless the law requires us to keep it, which mainly concerns accounting records.

Your Rights (GDPR - EU)

If you reside in the European Union, you have the following rights regarding your personal data: right of access, rectification, erasure, portability, objection, and restriction of processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at contact@trainingzones.io. You may also file a complaint with the CNIL (France) or your country's data protection authority.

Your Rights (nLPD - Switzerland)

If you reside in Switzerland, the new Data Protection Act (nLPD) grants you similar rights: right of access, rectification, and erasure of your data. For any request, contact us at contact@trainingzones.io. The Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner (FDPIC) is the competent authority.

Your Rights (CCPA - California)

If you reside in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) grants you the right to know what data is collected, to request its deletion, and to opt out of the sale of your data. We do not sell any personal data. For any request, contact us at contact@trainingzones.io.

International Transfers

Part of your data is processed outside Switzerland and the European Union, mainly in the United States, because our hosting (Vercel), our database (Neon), our analytics (Google) and our email delivery (Resend) rely on providers established there. These transfers are covered by the safeguards the GDPR provides for, mainly the Standard Contractual Clauses of the European Commission.
